Owners Jane and Janese have truly outdone themselves with their mouth-watering soups, salads, sandwiches, and custards. But did you know that SweetBerries is a true local gem that has been around for over 30 years? That's right! Jane's family started it all in Bradenton, FL, and it's been a fan favorite ever since.
After pursuing a diverse range of studies, including Biology, Respiratory Therapy, Culinary Arts, and Public Health, Jane knew that she had to bring the SweetBerries magic to Gainesville. And boy, are we grateful that she did! With a menu that boasts everything from pesto chicken sandwiches to breakfast bagels, SweetBerries has become a staple for students and locals alike.

Despite a few bumps in the road, including the closing of their original 13th Street location, Jane and Janese never gave up. They saw the need to support their employees and keep the SweetBerries dream alive, so they partnered with the University of Florida and opened a location by Newell Hall. And now, with a brand new location coming to 5th Avenue later this year, SweetBerries is only getting better.
Keeping the structure of the new SweetBerries building, Jane and her sister are working very hard to bring the community a beautiful space where they can get lunch and dinner in a homie, heartwarming environment. “It's not going to be a cookie-cutter restaurant, it will be an authentic Gainesville feel”. With the same menu as before, bringing delicious specials and the best regulars, SweetBerries is coming strong.
