If It Is: Authentic Thai & Sushi Bar

If It Is Kitchen & Cafe is a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Gainesville, FL. This authentic Thai and sushi bar is co-owned by siblings Val and her brother, who were both born and raised in Thailand. After moving to the US to study, they noticed a shortage of authentic Thai restaurants in Gainesville and decided to do something about it. They wanted to share a piece of their home with the local community, and thus If It Is was born.

As foodies, Val and her brother love to explore new places and flavors. They spent a year traveling and trying different restaurants to create their menu, which features classic Thai dishes like curries, pad thai, and traditional street noodles. However, they also put their own spin on some of the dishes, such as the "Mexican Roll & Volcano Roll", by adding unique flavor profiles and variations.

When you visit If It Is, you can expect to be transported to the streets of Thailand with their delicious and fresh food. Every dish is made with love and the highest quality ingredients. As a first-time customer, I tried a curry-based dish that I had never had before and was blown away by the depth of flavors.

If you're looking for a fun night out with friends or a romantic dinner, If It Is is the perfect spot. The restaurant has a great ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating and a fully stocked bar. Be sure to try some of the local favorites like the Pad Thai, Basil Stir Fry, Volcano Roll, and don't forget to order one of their tasty drinks.

As a local business, If It Is is a great spot to support. You can order from many local restaurants through the BYPPO APP, which is the only app that pays you to eat. When you check-in through the app, you can earn $5 towards your next order. So, next time you're in Gainesville, be sure to check out If It Is for a truly authentic Thai and sushi experience.
